Via the Dairy Development Programme (DDP) FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria is enabling local dairy farmers to run their businesses optimally and raise the quality and quantity of their dairy production. In this way FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria is contributing towards the improvement of the social-economic position of farmers in Nigeria.

Exchange of knowledge

FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria through partnering with government and international agencies have used considerable knowledgeable of dairy production to advise and support small dairy farm holders in Nigeria.
This support is aimed primarily at improving the quality of the milk and the productivity per cow.

Towards Sustainable Dairy Development

DDP officers from Nigeria, Indonesia and Vietnam and 15 Dutch member farmers were trained by Qlip, a Dutch organization for quality research, audits and certification
in the agrofood business, on animal health, milking processes, hoof trimming, tropical feed,
quality control of raw milk and many othersubjects related to dairy farming under tropical

The Dairy Development Programme in Nigeria

In Nigeria, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria invested in helping local farmers produce high-quality milk. In cooperation with Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development(FMARD) and International Fertilizer Development Center -Towards Sustainable Cluster in Agricbusiness through learning in Entrpreneurship(IFDC-@SCALE), we have supported through consistent training and demonstrations to upgrade their milk supply in terms of quantity and more importantly quality.
In addition, field trips have been organised to enable local stakeholders see at first hand, our sustainable dairy development value chain system.
